Welcome to 'ProtNA-ASA' Database

berriesProtNA-ASA Database was created to understand the physical mechanisms that allow proteins to recognize DNA and achieve their biological functions. ProtNA-ASA Database was created to understand the physical mechanisms that allow proteins to recognize DNA and achieve their biological functions.

About

The ProtNA-ASA Data Base is a database containing structural information of free B-DNA structures and Protein-DNA complexes solved by X-ray crystallography. It contains 128 protein-DNA complexes and 69 free B-DNA structures extracted from Nucleic acids Data Bank. The current version of the database contains structures with resolution better than 1.9 Å that ensures accurate determination of the sugar puckers and backbone torsion angles. Each entry of ProtNA-ASA Data Base contains information on conformational parameters of DNA and ASA values of each DNA atom in minor and major groove separately. The recent upgrade of ProtNA-ASA Data Base includes information on minor groove electrostatic potential, since it play a major role in protein DNA interaction process.
